Blue Sky Light

The blue of the sky

Particle oxygen and nitrogen molecules in the atmosphere are much smaller in diameter than the wavelength Rayleigh scattering dominates, forming a strong blue-violet scattering of short wavelengths, forming our visible blue sky.

The white of clouds

The white of clouds

Atmospheric particulate water mist, dust diameter is much larger than the wavelength of the dominant M scattering, resulting in no selective scattering, visible light scattering intensity of each band is the same, the formation of visible white clouds.

The red of the evening sun

The red of the evening sun

In the early morning and late evening, the sunlight is directed diagonally into the atmosphere, and the distance through the atmosphere is longer than that of the daytime, so the blue light is attenuated before it reaches the eyes, while the red light without attenuation reaches the eyes smoothly.

Design Technology

Every architect and designer knows, natural lighting is not always a realistic option.

Garden units, compact condos, malls, gyms, hospitals, schools - floor plans often don’t allow for expansive windows, or sometimes, any windows at all.

BlueSky Light technology is ideal for all types of indoor architectural applications, particularly windowless rooms and underground spaces.

It provides soothing, invigorating light similar to daylight and a sensation of infinite space that dramatically changes interiors and how people perceive them.

A glowing orb in what appears to be an azure sky floods a sparsely decorated room with seemingly natural sunlight… These images might look like still life paintings by Edward Hopper, but they are actually undoctored photographs demonstrating the brilliance of a brand new kind of skylight.

Every architect and designer knows, natural lighting is not always a realistic option.

Garden units, compact condos, malls, gyms, hospitals, schools - floor plans often don’t allow for expansive windows, or sometimes, any windows at all.

In these instances, artificial lighting is crucial, and mimicking the effects of natural lighting is key.

Imagine skylights in a basement unit. Sunny skies in an otherwise drab hospital or nursing home.

Daytime alertness in otherwise-windowless classrooms. The options are endless.

BlueSky Light

Looks good, you might think, and you wouldn’t be wrong. But this isn’t just any kind of skylight. BlueSky Light is an artificial skylight which could radically change the way we design and experience our work, living and public spaces that are below ground level or used at nighttime and in the winter months.

Studies have proven that our psychological and physical well-being are positively affected by daylight, yet the vast majority of us spend most of our time inside. In these instances, artificial lighting is crucial, and mimicking the effects of natural lighting is key.

Experience the new Smart Sky technology, that reconstructs the passage of time from sunrise to sunset, enjoying gradually shifting colours and light intensity throughout the day.
